Port of Ostend

Port of Ostend creates economic maritime growth with the aim of sustainable employment.

Port of Ostend plays a leading role in the Ostend Port Area in terms of caring for the Safety and Health of every employee and caring for the living environment. To support continuous awareness and attention to Safety and Health, a mascot was created, SAFE HENK, with the slogan “I am not a cowboy”. The mascot was designed by the Ostend artist Herr Seele.

The use of fossil raw materials to propel vehicles or vessels will hopefully soon decrease drastically. The scarcity of raw materials and the negative impact on people and the environment are compelling factors. Alternatives are available. The opportunity to take an actual new step in technology and energy transition is supported by Port of Ostend.

Lithobeton (NL - FR)

More than just concrete

“As a solution-oriented innovator, Lithobeton is always looking for original and sustainable tailor-made options, tailored to the unique needs of each customer.”  - Tom Bulcke, manager

Lithobeton is a leading company that produces high-quality concrete products for water, road construction and electricity. With its 2 production sites (Snaaskerke and Baudour), Lithobeton is responsible for the delivery of concrete products above and below the road surface at home and abroad. In addition to the 2 production sites, Lithobeton also has a distribution center in France (Comines), where high-voltage cabins are produced for the French market in collaboration with ELKA (partner for electrical installations).

Since the electrification of the market in recent years, the demand for high-voltage cabins has grown enormously. A great opportunity for Lithobeton to join in that growth story and pave the way to innovation and efficient production. Lithobeton is also a leader in the field of infiltrating and sustainable products for our roads and the decoration of public spaces. In 2023, 170 employees together achieved a turnover of 40 million euros, spread over 2 Belgian branches.

Regional Products Deschildre (NL)

Regional Products Deschildre is a beautiful experience store in a unique location.

At Karel and Willy Deschildre you will find regional products from all over Flanders on the shelves, the counter is full of delicious local meat specialties. Tasty and honest products made in the tradition of the (great) great grandparents. The beautiful craft of a butcher is a matter of honor, just like keeping ancient recipes alive. For example, they put the 'zwienemutsen', lightly pickled and slow-cooked pig stomachs, back on the menu.

At Streekproducten Deschildre, tradition and innovation go hand in hand. You can taste this in their range of meat products with seaweed. Think of the sea sausage, boudin de mer, sea pâté, sea ham or sea chicks. Regional products Deschildre is more than a store. You can also stay there for dinner, pick up a picnic or take a workshop.
